All things considered, Jonathan Taylor's DRBR scores from last season are actually pretty impressive. He was hurt to begin the year and missed a few games. Then he was eased back in in those next two games after coming back, was hurt later on in the year, and still posted very respectable DRBR scores.
Now, one thing that we're going to keep our mind on is that each of the last three years, his DRBR scores have dropped a little bit at a time. The reason probably for that is the injuries. Two years ago, when he was the best running back in all of football, his DRBR scores were through the roof. In the last couple of years, considering that he has missed 13 combined games in 2022 and 2023, unfortunately, that has hampered those DRBR scores.
So, the injuries can end up happening to anybody. Keep in mind, the DRBR scores do not take that into consideration. We're only looking at what the scores tell us we can get from a running back in any singular game. So we know when we get Jonathan Taylor on the field, the guy is a top 12 type of running back, and we know the offense that he plays in is definitely going to suit him well.
But even if he continues to be injured and we miss some time with him or he continues to be banged up, that is going to affect the games in which he does play because his scores go down the more banged up he is. He is a guy that really relies on having fresh legs and healthy legs to help him make tacklers miss and to break the ones who do get to him.
