People just can't help themselves. They see the 4.2 40 time of Xavier Worthy going to Kansas City and they immediately think he's the next Tyreek Hill. But don't forget, MVS has been there the last two years. He has 4.3 speed and never had more than 42 catches for 687 yards and two touchdowns. What about Hollywood Brown? He's in town now as well. He ran a 4.27 40 at his pro day. It's not all about speed though; a little bit more goes into it, and there's only really one Tyreek Hill.
Now, is Xavier Worthy going to get loose at times in 2024 and have a big play? 100% he's going to. But that is not something we're going to be able to rely upon weekly. Even Rashee Rice in 2023 took some time to develop and get a bigger role in that offense. It didn't happen until week 12. And if we're being completely honest with ourselves, the offense in 2023 in Kansas City needed more help than the offense they currently have right now in 2024.
Now, he will remain the cheapest option in this offense, so if you want a cheap part of it, that's definitely Xavier Worthy. But I'm going to be honest with you: the only way that I invest a single-digit round pick on Xavier Worthy is if we know and we hear news that Rashee Rice is going to be suspended for the year. If Rice plays at all, Worthy needs to be a double-digit round pick.
